Prince of Peace has decided to support these local needs:
Cache Valley Humanitarian Center
This group builds personal hygiene kits and also makes sleeping mats out of plastic shopping bags, for those who need them.
CVHC has a loom to make their sleeping mats and they do this on Tuesdays from 10-Noon, and will soon add Wednesdays from 2 -4pm for anyone who’d like to lend a hand. We have set up a bin in the entry to accept plastic grocery bags here at PoP to be used in making the sleeping mats.
CVHC prefers cash over in-kind donated items so that they can buy in bulk and get more for their money than we could by buying individually. This also makes it possible for all their kits to be identical, which is important to the recipients.
They are located at 179 East 800 North, Logan (Old LDS Seminary building south of Mount Logan Middle School) and their phone number is (208) 206-3270. https://www.cachevalleyhumanitariancenter.com
Blessing Box
The Blessing Box (aka, refrigerator by the front door) has been updated.
The old refrigerator has been disposed of and a newer one has been secured and installed.
The BB is always in need of shelf-stable food items, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, and paper goods.
Thank you for your support.
An Update from Cache Community Gleaning
Hi there, We can't believe the Summer is almost through and hope that it has been a meaningful one for you! We wanted to pop in to update you on upcoming sessions in the next few weeks. Some of our fall produce is starting to come on and more hands makes for lighter work. We are so appreciative of everyone who has come out to help us! If you are interested in gleaning with us this season, please consider signing up for a session or two. Below I have linked a calendar that lists all of our available sessions. We are especially hoping to find some volunteers for this Friday! We will be picking apples in a small personal orchard.

Thank you for all that you do! We hope to see you soon!
REMEMBER that ‘service’ is not limited to this one day…this is just the beginning of discovering the difference one can make in the community.
